One quick question/comment… I keep marine fish and reef tanks and was wondering if there was a reason that the salt mixes we use in the hobby aren’t mentioned. These mixes are highly refined to match natural sea water and are mixed with RO (reverse osmosis) purified water. It struck me that this could be an easy and inexpensive way to make sea water for anyone who has found it beneficial to their psoriasis.

Dave Replies: You know what? The thought never occurred to me. My best friend goes on and on about his saltwater fish tank, and I never made the connection. Thanks a lot for pointing it out!
If you know of some good online resources (both about what’s in the mixture, and where to get it), please pass them my way.

…As to contents, I’m pretty sure there has been some information on the different brands. They will basically be the same but if I can find some specifics, I’ll pass them on to you. Some of the big name brands I can think of are Instant Ocean, Reef Crystals, Coral Life, Tropic Marin, Kent, Deep Ocean, Red Sea. There is always a debate in the hobby as to which salt mix is best but, in fact, there isn’t an enormous difference…

Dave Replies: Thanks for the info. I’ll look into this stuff sometime soon, and add what I find to the “Seawater” page.
